Rihanna Claps Back at Trolls Criticizing Her Forehead While Pushing for New Music

Criticizing Rihanna won’t hasten the release of her new album.

The international icon, 36, has not unveiled a new collection of music since the 2016 album Anti, and one online critic took it upon themselves to point this out in a remark on her latest Instagram post honoring New Year’s 2025 — and RiRi responded quickly.

“We want an album forehead,” commented Instagram user @lorenzohirmez beneath a clip of the “Work” artist celebrating the New Year with companions.

The remark drew Rihanna’s notice, and she replied, “Listen Lorenzo! You aren’t attractive enough to be calling me by my black name you dizzy f—!”

In the initial Instagram video, the Barbados-born singer stated, “Y’all, I didn’t drink at all this year! I did not drink all year.” She added in her caption, “New Year, New Me.”

Although the Grammy winner has not published a new album in nearly nine years, she released two tracks — “Lift Me Up” and “Born Again” — for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2022 and headlined the Super Bowl halftime performance the subsequent year.

Recently, Rihanna made an informal comeback to the stage to perform her 2016 songs “Needed Me” and “Sex with Me” at a New York City Girls Love Karaoke function, according to clips shared by fans online.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in April, the “We Found Love” artist shared insights about her upcoming music and described her new tracks as “so amazing.”

In a discussion with British Vogue last year, the mother of two discussed experiencing “toxic pressure” to surpass the standard set by Anti — regarded as “the most cohesive album I’ve ever created” — with her forthcoming music.

“It’s not the correct way to view music because music serves as an outlet and a creative space, allowing for whatever form of creation. It doesn’t need to adhere to any specific standards,” she commented at the time. “It merely needs to resonate well. It could simply be a song that I personally enjoy. It really could be that uncomplicated.”
