This autumn saw participation from a total of 180 Division III institutions. Updated rankings will be released after the conclusion of the winter sports season.

The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup was initiated through a collaborative effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are allocated based on the performance of each institution in NCAA Championships.

SUNY Geneseo holds the 24th position nationally following the fall season, accumulating 192.5 points. The Knights secured Empire 8 Championships in men’s cross country, women’s cross country, field hockey, and women’s soccer during the fall period. Geneseo achieved sixth place overall at the NCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship and ninth place at the NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championships.

SUNY Brockport gathered 57 points during the fall, ranking 96th overall. The Golden Eagles received an at-large invitation to the 2024 NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament and had three student-athletes compete in the NCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship.

St. John Fisher triumphed in Empire 8 Championships in men’s soccer and women’s volleyball and participated in the NCAA Championship Tournament in both disciplines. The Cardinals are tied for 100th nationally, totaling 50 points after the fall season.

Hartwick College secured the 2024 Empire 8 Women’s Tennis Championship and is set to compete in the NCAA Championship Tournament scheduled for May 2025.

SUNY Cortland, primarily competing as a SUNYAC member, was the Empire 8 Champion in football, moving into the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The Red Dragons rank 32nd overall with 167 points.
