We observed the news and thought, well of course. Las Vegas, already recognized as WalletHub’s premier city for leisure activities, was recently awarded the finance site’s title of “Most Fun City”—by a significant margin, we might add.
The research highlighted that the city possesses everything: the capacity to host significant music festivals, concerts, and residencies alongside some of the nation’s leading spas and an excessive quantity of shopping centers, comedy venues, sports arenas, and theaters. The concentration of these amenities in a relatively compact area likely also contributed to its favorable ranking.
The research further pointed out that Las Vegas excels in outdoor recreation, not only because of its own hiking paths and recreational spaces such as Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston, but also due to its proximity to national parks in California, Arizona, and Utah.
What WalletHub did to derive their findings was to compare 182 U.S. cities, analyzing data across three specific domains: entertainment and recreation, nightlife and festivities, and cost-effectiveness. They processed the data and produced the list.
“The cities deemed the most enjoyable naturally include some of the most frequented tourist destinations in the U.S., such as Las Vegas, Orlando, and Miami, yet these locations offer much more than mere tourist attractions,” states WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo in the report. “They provide a wide array of indoor and outdoor activities catering to various interests, from sports to theaters to arcades, with plenty of diverse dining options to explore. The leading cities present affordable alternatives for year-round enjoyment for their residents, benefiting both their wallets and mental well-being.”
As for your next enjoyable cities, Orlando ranks a distant second, followed by Miami, Atlanta, and New Orleans. We were somewhat taken aback by how poorly some of our beloved cities ranked in this study; we refer to Honolulu (16), Los Angeles (18), and San Diego (21), which leads us to question the validity of this analysis a touch.
