Tariq is an Eagle Scout (yes, he achieved the Space Exploration merit badge), a veteran of Space Camp (four times as a child, and once as an adult), and has experienced the ultimate “vomit comet” ride while covering zero-gravity fires. Prior to his tenure at Space.com, he was a staff correspondent for The Los Angeles Times covering municipal and educational topics. He holds journalism degrees from the University of Southern California and New York University.
