Discovering the Dynamic Spirit of Bowling Green State University

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The BGSU swim squad is set to welcome the new year in the warm and sunny state of Florida, where they will compete against host Barry University and Simon Fraser University from British Columbia, Canada, in a tri-meet on Sunday, January 5 at 11 a.m.

This event will occur at the Miami Country Day Aquatic Center, an open-air facility located in Miami Shores, Florida, which serves as the home pool for Barry. Both the Buccaneers and the Red Leafs represent Division II schools participating in the Sunshine State and the Great Northwest Athletic Conferences, respectively.

At present, BGSU is on their training excursion in the Sunshine State, conducting their practice sessions in the Orlando region prior to moving southward for the tri-meet. No diving competitions will be included.

The Falcons last participated in Florida two years ago during the Sprint Invitational at FIU.

Interesting Facts
Former Cleveland Guardians catcher Yan Gomes played one season with Barry before being drafted in 2009. Additionally, four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal obtained a Doctor of Education in Human Resource Development from Barry in 2012. Moreover, Simon Fraser holds the distinction of being the only Canadian institution in the NCAA.
