Heartbreak in Orono: Bulldogs Stumble Against Maine on Saturday

ORONO, ME. – The Bryant University women’s basketball squad faced a defeat against Maine while away, finishing with a score of 87-64 on Saturday.
 
Ali Brigham accumulated 16 points, while Maranda Nyborg, Mia Mancini, and Martina Boba contributed 10 points each.

• The Bulldogs started with the first basket of the game, but the Black Bears countered with a 12-2 surge over the next six minutes of the first period (12-4).
• Bryant rallied during the last four minutes of the quarter, racking up 12 points while Maine managed seven (19-16). Ali Brigham netted six, Mia Mancini secured four, and Martina Boba recorded two.
• Maine initiated the second quarter with a 7-0 spurt at 7:23 (26-16).
• The Black Bears concluded the first half by scoring 15 points against the Black and Gold’s nine, resulting in a 41-25 deficit for Bryant.
• The Bulldogs surged at the beginning of the second half, amassing 12 points: six from Boba, four from Mancini, and two from Maranda Nyborg. Maine added seven, decreasing the Black Bears’ advantage to 11 (48-39) with six minutes remaining in the quarter.
