Only two days passed before the initial job cuts of 2025 occurred within the gaming sector. Netmarble F&C is dismissing approximately 20 individuals — around 25% — from the organization.
The information was initially disclosed by the South Korean news agency YNA.
Netmarble F&C operates as a branch of the mobile gaming firm Netmarble. The studio is presently developing its forthcoming title Demis Reborn, which is anticipated to launch sometime in 2025. Reports from YNA indicate that the game’s “artistic direction and general ambiance underwent significant alterations” to be more appealing to adult preferences.

It has also been stated that the game’s release timeline may be “possibly” adjusted due to the changes in personnel.
The previous two years have marked the most challenging period for the gaming sector concerning job layoffs. Following over 10,000 layoffs in 2023, 2024 experienced an estimated 16,000+ positions terminated.
