Principal Architects:
Nguyen Quang Huu Tuan, Phan An
Description provided by the architects. Ms. Vi approached me with the absolute trust I had established with her, reminiscent of our first connection. I initially turned her down, but her genuine approach, commitment, and the idea she wished for me to bring to life convinced me. During the period she constructed Sukha Vihara, she had quit her job to prioritize her meditation path. She aspired to reside henceforth in a space she had always envisioned, where the heart of the home is a tree – all spaces directed towards it. Her personal area is minimized to the absolute degree, devoting everything to communal spaces where she and her friends can consistently engage with nature. Sukha Vihara exhibits a design that turns inward, mirroring her shift towards self-reflection starting this moment.
Green Connection (Om Cay) – environment – green – area: Innovative spatial conditions for internal green spaces that enable leveled connected areas within the residence. All activities revolve around greenery to foster warmth and comfort within the home. The textures and rhythm in the interlinked designs provide flexibility and illumination for the sleeping and guest zones. Notably, a mango tree stands in front of the house, contributing to the greenery, and from the inside out, additional areas intermingle with white tones and a straightforward monolithic design, emphasizing the bond between the interiors and the greenery present in the dwelling.
Natural ventilation: The green area balances the air, ensuring all activities remain pleasant, fostering an environment that is both fulfilling and organic. The host is engaged. The homeowner consistently emphasizes communal areas, leading to the reduction of private quarters such as bedrooms which are integrated into expansive spaces, merging with NGOs.
Connecting Consciousness (Ket Noi Tam Thuc) – Meditation – organic – contemplation: This residence is designed in alignment with the aspirations of the inhabitants, transforming it into a venue for hosting Buddhist sessions. In accordance, we crafted the floor of the pre-built BC to face the worship area, amalgamating it with the surrounding space illuminated by trees, thereby creating an expansive area of unity. Traditional elements combined with straightforward lines and muted tones accentuate the luminous nature of the space.
Seeking Alms: The elegant design of the silver-mitigated ladder, along with the gentle air from the bridge, creates a village-like pathway extending from the first space. From a vibrant red, the thoroughfare extends, culminating in an elevated platform, allowing the worship space to adopt a clearer concept. The arrangement of the silver steps and errors converge with martial traditions, fostering a cohesive palace, leading to the worship area.
