Erwin Shatters Pool Records with Stellar Performance at Bates Event!

LEWISTON, Maine – Tommy Erwin triumphed in both of his individual races and established a pool record as the Dartmouth men’s swimming and diving squad defeated Bates College on Saturday afternoon, 132-73. Additionally, there were two more performances that set Tarbell Pool records for the Big Green during the meet.
 
“We had an excellent day at Bates today. It’s always enjoyable to re-engage in competition after the break, and we certainly came out strong today. We achieved several pool records, numerous event victories, and some personal as well as season bests today—definitely a successful meet leading into the upcoming Ivy League contests,” declared Captain Aryeh Lesch.
 
Tommy Erwin established a pool record in the 1000 free while also achieving a season-best time of 9:30.75. Jacob Turner similarly set a pool record in the 200 IM, clocking in at 1:52.15.
 
Xavier Orlic, Reed Wallace, and Ronan Fahey secured the top three positions in the 500 free, with Orlic finishing at 4:44.93, Wallace at 4:48.77, and Fahey at 4:49.14.
 
McCoy Lyman made his collegiate diving debut this afternoon, scoring 258.75 on the 3 meter. Everett Tai’s score of 339.30 on the same 3 meter places him 10^th on Dartmouth’s All-Time Top-10 list of performers.
 
The Dartmouth women’s swim and dive team will return to action as they head to Yale on Friday, Jan. 10 and Saturday, Jan. 11, with the divers competing on Friday and the swimmers on Saturday.
