Florida Swim Meet Concludes with Teams Making Waves and Claiming Victory!

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The La Salle swimming teams participated in the Eagles Triple Distance Invite on Saturday, with both teams achieving victories.
 
The men’s squad triumphed over Saint Peter’s with a score of 230-93, while the women’s team defeated Saint Peter’s and Siena with scores of 283-64 and 246-126. In their dual meet against host FGCU, the women’s team fell short with a score of 225-166.

HOW IT UNFOLDED

• The men’s team won the opening two events of the day, with Felix Jedbratt claiming victory in the 50-yard fly and Tarik Gusic winning the 50-yard back.
• Carter Perkins secured gold in the 50-yard, 100-yard, and 150-yard freestyle events.
• Jedbratt and Gusic maintained their stronghold with victories in their respective categories, with the former prevailing in the 100- and 150-yard fly and Gusic winning in the 100- and 150-yard back.
• Owen Reilly’s time of 2:50.91 in the 300-yard freestyle earned him first place.
• In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Noah Fredriksson, Andrew Wong, Jedbratt, and Perkins collaborated for a first-place finish, clocking in at 1:35.71.
• On the women’s side, Carlota Ungo achieved first overall in the 50-yard breast, finishing with a time of 30.66.
• Gabrysia Herbreder won the 100-yard IM event, crossing the finish line in 59.06.
• Ungo, Beren Celik, and Denise Yushan united for a 1-2-3 overall finish in the 100-yard breast.
• Herbreder secured another victory in the 200-yard IM, finishing with a time of 2:08.14. She would later claim her third individual win in the 300-yard IM, concluding it in 3:24.97.
• Celik and Ungo finished first and second in the 150-yard breast event.
• To conclude the day, the 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Herbreder, Ungo, Tori Fenn, and Camilla Frost won with a time of 1:48.68.

UPCOMING EVENTS

• The Explorers will return home for their first meet of the year at Kirk Pool, competing against Bucknell on Friday, Jan. 10. The meet is set to commence at 1:00 p.m.
