Miami, Fla. – The Tulane swimming and diving squad triumphed in five events, established two meet records, and achieved 13 top three individual placements to secure the second position overall with 389 points at the 2025 FIU Sprint Invite held in Miami, Fla. at the Biscayne Bay Aquatics Center on Saturday.

Maya Wilson clinched a total of four events on the day, emerging victorious in the 200 freestyle (1:53.71), the 100 freestyle (51.67), the 100 butterfly (56.62), and the 50 freestyle (23.67). She also topped both the preliminaries (23.86) and the semifinals of the 50 freestyle (24.03). Furthermore, her times in the 100 freestyle and the 100 butterfly were both meet records.

Andrea Zeebe won the 100 backstroke (57.18), marking a new meet record in the category. Zeebe also took first place in the semifinals of the 50 backstroke (26.72) and finished second in the finals (26.45). She secured second in the preliminaries of the 50 backstroke (27.14) to qualify for the semifinals and achieved third in the 100 individual medley (59.24).

Catherine Russo claimed second place in the 100 butterfly (57.87). She finished third in the preliminaries of the 50 butterfly (25.94), won the semifinals of that event (25.56), and placed second overall in the finals (25.24).

Lise Coetzee came in second in the 200 freestyle (1:54.79).

Rafaela Sumida achieved a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (59.86) and also secured third in both the semifinals (24.47) and finals of the 50 freestyle (24.35).

Paula Gaya Bisquerra made it to third in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.07).

Following this week’s events in Miami, Florida, Tulane will return home on January 25 for a dual competition against Little Rock at 11 a.m. The team concludes its home schedule and regular season by hosting West Florida on February 1 at 1:30 p.m. The 2025 AAC Swimming Championships are set to take place from February 19-22 in Dallas, Texas at SMU.
