PITTSBURGH — — Ishmael Leggett contributed 21 points, guiding Pittsburgh to an 83-68 triumph over Stanford on Saturday evening.

Leggett failed to make any of his four attempts from beyond the arc but succeeded in all nine attempts within the three-point line for the Panthers (12-2, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who have secured 15 consecutive wins at home since last season. Pitt, achieving its finest beginning since the 2016-17 season with its fifth straight victory, established a school record with its eighth consecutive win in ACC contests.

Jaland Lowe added 16 points along with five assists and four steals for Pitt. Guillermo Diaz Graham scored 12 points, while Zack Austin chipped in 11. Austin also recorded two blocks, becoming the fourth athlete in NCAA history to amass 1,200 points, 600 rebounds, 175 three-pointers, and 200 blocks throughout a career.

Maxime Raynaud netted 21 to lead the Cardinal (9-5, 1-2), who commenced their inaugural ACC season with three consecutive games on the road. Chisom Okpara came off the bench to contribute 14 points.

Leggett tallied four points during an 8-0 surge to initiate the second half, allowing the Panthers to maintain control. Diaz Graham tipped in a basket, positioning Pitt ahead by 20 at 55-35 with 13:18 left on the clock.

Kyle Smith is the newly appointed head coach for Stanford, having been honored as the Pac-12 Coach of the Year at Washington State last season.

Pittsburgh is set to face No. 4 Duke on Tuesday. Stanford will go against Virginia Tech on Wednesday in its ACC home debut.
