The Bundaberg Region is preparing for an authentic celebration this Australia Day as the community comes together for a day filled with enjoyment, cuisine, and festivities at Nielson Park, Bargara.

Commencing at 11 am, the complimentary event, organized by Bundaberg Regional Council, guarantees entertainment for all, featuring live music, beachside activities, market stalls, and delicious snacks.

Portfolio spokesperson Cr Steve Cooper remarked that the day will present a fantastic opportunity for families and the community to unite in celebration.

“Australia Day signifies coming together to reflect, honor, and appreciate everything we cherish about this magnificent country,” Cr Cooper stated.

“With an exceptional lineup of local performances, activities, and delightful food, this year’s event will surely be unforgettable.”

Visitors can experience a robust stage program showcasing beloved local talents Derek F Smith, Smooth Velvet, Ryan Giles, Abby Skye Duo, and the Spargo Brothers.

The excitement extends beyond the stage, featuring activities such as a Party Higher silent disco, roller skating presented by The Neon Loft, face painting, and BMX and skateboarding workshops.

Lifeguard-monitored beach swimming provides a refreshing way to relax, while Bubble’licious Creations will deliver whimsical amusement for participants of all ages.

A variety of market stalls and food vendors will ensure that everyone is satisfied, offering an array of savory dishes and sweet treats.

Emergency service personnel will also be present with an interactive information booth featuring the SES, Police, firefighters, and their vehicles, providing a chance for community engagement and education on disaster readiness.

For additional information regarding this year’s Australia Day festivities, keep an eye out for the program in early January.
