The Pearl Ellis Gallery is thrilled to kick off 2025 with Lenses & Layers: Exploring Photography and Digital Art, an exhibition highlighting the creative potential within digital and photographic mediums. Scheduled from Jan. 7 to Feb. 1, 2025, the exhibit presents a varied collection of works by skilled artists who are reshaping the frontiers of creativity and technology. An opening gathering will take place on Jan. 11, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the public is enthusiastically invited to join.
The exhibit investigates how artists utilize technology to craft mesmerizing visual experiences. From inventive digital artworks and conceptual photography to pieces that integrate digital and traditional methods, the assortment honors the dynamic fusion of art and innovation. Attendees will also encounter textile and mixed media creations that challenge traditional artistic norms.
Among the artists highlighted is Karen Segee, whose work represents a profound personal relationship between artistry and narrative.
“This piece was created with a writer friend in mind,” Segee states. “By employing layers in Photoshop, I managed to compile and illustrate inner experiences that would eventually be expressed in her writing.”
