“Gaming Revolution: Xbox Cloud Services Set to Land on LG Smart TVs in 2025”

After originally debuting on Samsung TVs in 2022, Microsoft is set to extend its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to additional television models in 2025. In this latest initiative, Xbox is collaborating with LG to enable game streaming on another set of Smart TV devices later in this year.

While the exact models of TVs that will be compatible are not confirmed yet, considering that the feature is scheduled to roll out later this year, we can expect a comprehensive list of which models can utilize Xbox Cloud Gaming closer to the launch date. Microsoft has shared the following statement about their new collaboration:

“Today, we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with LG Electronics to introduce the Xbox app on their upcoming LG Smart TVs later this year. Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to play their games directly from the Xbox app on compatible LG Smart TVs via Xbox Cloud Gaming. This provides players with even more options to enjoy their favorite games.”

Although we are gradually witnessing Xbox Cloud Gaming expand to games beyond the Game Pass library, today’s update primarily emphasizes titles within the subscription service. Microsoft indicates that “shortly, users with LG Smart TVs will be able to access the Gaming Portal for instant access to hundreds of games in the Game Pass Ultimate library”.

Earlier this year, the Xbox team also launched its Cloud Gaming service for several Amazon Fire Stick variants, and with the team advancing its new ‘This is an Xbox’ advertising campaign in 2025, it is evident that Xbox now reaches far beyond just a conventional gaming console.
