“Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Dive into Action: Kicking Off 2025 with Auburn and Carson-Newman Showdown!”

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swim and dive begins 2025 with a competition at the McAuley Aquatic Center, hosting Auburn and Carson-Newman for a tri-meet on January 7, with events commencing at 12 p.m.

Live results will be accessible via the Meet Mobile app, and the meet will be broadcasted on ACCNX.

The Yellow Jackets are set to compete against Auburn for the second occasion this season, following their earlier encounter with the Tigers during the three-day Georgia Tech Invite in November. Auburn’s men’s team is currently ranked 15 in the latest CSCAA poll, while the women’s team holds the 19th position.

Tech returns to action for the first time in over a month, with their last appearance being the GT Invite, where both teams finished fourth. Throughout the three-day event, the Yellow Jackets set four school records: women’s 200 freestyle relay, men’s 200 freestyle relay, women’s 200 medley relay, and women’s 400 freestyle relay.

The Yellow Jackets excelled in diving at the invite, with Max Fowler clinching victory in all three diving events, winning the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform competitions. He was also the top qualifier in preliminaries for both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. On the women’s side, Anna Bradescu triumphed in the platform event, with Tech securing four out of six diving events.

Newcomers to the Yellow Jackets are quickly making an impression this season, with transfer Phoebe Wright achieving times of 1:57.65 in the 200 back against FSU, 1:49.80 in the 200 freestyle, and 4:48.22 in the 500 freestyle during the meet against Emory, in addition to winning the 100 back, 200 back, and 500 free in the Gold vs. White Intrasquad. Freshman Zara Masud also took first place in the 200 butterfly (2:02.00) in the meet against Emory and in the 500 free (4:54.34) against Florida State.

After the meet on Tuesday, Tech will have just one home meet left, a two-day competition against ACC rival Duke on January 17-18. January 18 will also be designated as Senior Day.
