During the travel alert, individuals are advised to avoid all travel, adhere to necessary emergency measures, assist public officials and disaster services in implementing emergency operation plans, and comply with lawful instructions from duly identified officers.
Mayor Bob Courtney emphasizes the importance of safety: “The safety of our community is our principal concern. As this severe weather affects our region, I implore everyone to remain at home, avert unnecessary hazards, and look out for one another.”
City Hall, the Brown Gym, the Transfer Station, and the Senior Center will be closed tomorrow due to the storm’s impact. Trash pickup will be postponed.
The Salvation Warming Shelter will be available tonight and tomorrow night for those in need. Volunteers are urgently sought for the remainder of the week.
Moreover, residents are encouraged to check on family and friends, particularly elderly or at-risk neighbors, to ensure they are safe and have sufficient supplies. Please remember to bring pets inside or provide them with suitable shelter to shield them from the harsh weather.
