Samsung unveiled its latest range of OLED TVs today at CES 2025. The series comprises three collections with sizes varying from 42 up to 83 inches and encompasses a variety of innovative features empowered by AI technology. Pricing and availability for the new televisions has yet to be disclosed, but we anticipate receiving that information in the upcoming weeks.
The Samsung S95D, recognized as one of the premier TVs of 2024, was honored as TV of the Year in the TechRadar Choice awards. Therefore, we hold high expectations for its successor, the Samsung S95F, and Samsung’s announcement outlines features that position it as one of the leading OLED TVs of 2025.
Among the new features generally being introduced to premium Samsung TVs for 2025 is AI Upscaling Pro, previously exclusive to the company’s 8K models; Samsung’s Auto HDR Remastering Pro feature now includes both AI-driven color enhancement and depth-based stereoscopy enhancement; and a convenient AI search function utilizes a separate on-screen window activated by a new AI button on the remote, replacing the older Search button.
Another significant addition for 2025 is the Samsung Art Store portal, a feature once restricted to Samsung The Frame TVs, granting access to artworks from prestigious museums such as New York’s The Met and MOMA for display on the TV screen.
Samsung S95F
Samsung S95F series TVs represent the company’s top-tier OLED models available in 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch screen sizes – with the latter being a new size for 2025. They showcase an Infinity One “floating screen” design and OLED Glare Free 2.0 technology, which enhances the original Glare Free technology found in the Samsung S95D by boosting black depth and detail in bright environments while minimizing screen glare. The previous model was effective at reducing distracting reflections, but it also elevated the brightness of the image, causing darker tones to look grayer and some details in brighter areas to be lost. The updated version seeks to address this issue.
The S95F series utilizes the latest NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor, which elevates the neural network count from 20 to 128 compared to the processor in last year’s S95D. Samsung claims a 30% increase in brightness for the S95F series, marking a significant enhancement over last year’s already luminous flagship Samsung OLEDs. Additionally, the S95F series includes AI Gamma, which automatically modifies picture gamma in brightly lit conditions to reveal shadow details that would typically remain hidden.
S95F series TVs will receive a gaming enhancement with 165Hz display support tailored for PC gaming, along with FreeSync Premium Pro. They also boast an integrated 4.2.2-channel 70W speaker system featuring OTS+ and upward-firing speakers.
Samsung S90F and S85F
For 2025, Samsung’s midrange OLED selection consists of the Samsung S90F series, available in sizes of 42-, 48-, 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83 inches. Samsung states that the models 55 inches and above will feature a QD-OLED display panel, while the 42- and 48-inch variants will utilize a W-OLED panel (the same type employed in LG’s OLED TVs, as opposed to Samsung’s own distinct technology).
Samsung is asserting a brightness level of 1,300 nits for the new S90F models – a substantial improvement over previous versions. Moreover, the S90F series incorporates the same NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor as the S95F series, providing AI-driven 4K upscaling and motion enhancement. Gaming capabilities include support for a 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium.
The Samsung S85F series will be offered in 55-, 65-, 77-, and 83-inch sizes, making it the most budget-friendly option in Samsung’s OLED lineup. These televisions feature an NQ4 AI Gen 2 processor and 2.0-channel 20W built-in speakers equipped with OTS Lite – more details will follow as they become available!
