South Yorkshire Unites with Citymapper for a Smarter Travel Future

The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) is excited to declare a new partnership with Citymapper, the award-winning journey-planning application, which aims to influence the future of public transportation throughout South Yorkshire and will enrich the travel experience for inhabitants, employees, and tourists.

Through this partnership, SYMCA will gain insights from data regarding regional travel behaviors to assist in reshaping South Yorkshire’s transport services. By utilizing exclusive data from Citymapper that illustrates how individuals utilize public transit, SYMCA can pinpoint service deficiencies and prioritize investments in the most critical areas.

Citymapper’s application will see improvements tailored for South Yorkshire’s transportation framework. Covering buses, trams, trains, and options for active travel, the app will provide a comprehensive solution for efficient and sustainable commuting; featuring essential tools like multi-modal journey planning, real-time departure updates, and live bus tracking that empower users to make well-informed travel choices.
