It’s a snow day, and youngsters of all ages are eager to sled down the hills of Bucks County.

Below are some favored locations to glide down the slopes and embrace some winter enjoyment as the snow descends throughout the day. Remember to dress warmly as temperatures are projected to reach around 25 degrees on Monday.

Falls Community Park Sledding Hill

This hill was specifically crafted for sledding in a park constructed around repurposed stone quarries. Falls Community Park is the jewel of the township’s public leisure areas. Address: 9050 Mill Creek Road. Open from sunrise to sunset.

Magill’s Hill Park, Solebury

“Overlooking the Delaware River is Magill’s Hill Park, a 5-acre recreational area adorned with steep and wide hills,” states visitbuckscounty.com, the county’s tourism bureau which has its own curated list of top sledding hills available.

This magnificent hill is located in Levittown’s Holly Hill community and fills up quickly on any snow day. The hill essentially forms the foreground of the historic Bolton Mansion and guarantees an entertaining experience.

A broad grassy slope, ideally situated beside the Kids Castle parking area next to the amphitheater at Central Park, providing ample space for all to gather and relish the snow.

Another excellent recommendation from visitbuckscounty.com: Seek hills around the Upper Plantation Picnic Area. Enter at Swamp Road and Route 413.

“For a touch more adventure away from the usual spots, hills located to the west of Schofield Ford Covered Bridge are also a fantastic choice. The nearest entrance for this hill is just beyond Twining Bridge Road or Pennswood Drive,” the agency notes.

Peace Valley Park, Doylestown

This excellent sledding location is situated on the northwest side of Lake Nockamixon. Look for parking near Pavilion Five, which is accessed from New Galena Road, just a short distance from Peace Valley Lavender Farm. The delightful hill overlooks the lake with breathtaking views of the park.

Walter Miller Elementary School, Levittown

School may be closed for the day, but many will gather at Walter Miller to experience the hill on the side of the property. Ideal for young children.

Tohickon Middle School, Doylestown

This steep slope located just off the parking area on the right side of Tohickon provides a fast ride perfect for older children and teenagers who enjoy speed.

Linden Elementary, Doylestown

Proceed past the expansive recess blacktop region to find a wide grassy slope with ample space for sledding. For younger children, there is also a smaller hill located just beneath the kindergarten playground.
