CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – During the week 13 selection of weekly accolades for the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming & Diving season, Virginia Tech’s Carles Coll Marti was recognized as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week while SMU’s Luke Sitz was named Men’s Diver of the Week. Virginia Tech’s Carmen Weiler Sastre received the title of Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Aranza Vázquez Montaño earned Women’s Diver of the Week recognition.
ACC MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Coll Marti was awarded the ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for the third occasion this season. The Virginia Tech fifth-year senior achieved six individual victories last week, dominating every event he participated in over the Hokies’ two meets. On January 3, Coll Marti set a new pool record at Queens University in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM and the 200 medley relay before breaking Virginia Tech’s pool record in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM the next day during a dual meet against ????. Coll Marti currently tops the nation in the 200 breast with a time of 1:50.09, which he recorded at the Wolfpack Elite Invitational on November 21-23.
ACC MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK

The Mustang freshman claimed his fourth ACC Men’s Diver of the Week accolade of the season. Sitz achieved two podium finishes against six ranked teams last week at the UGA Diving Invitational. The Prosper, Texas, product finished second in the 1-meter with a score of 360.10 and third in the 3-meter with a score of 366.90. Sitz has now secured podium finishes in every event he has participated in this season.
ACC WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Weiler Sastre took first place for the Hokies last week in all four individual events she participated in. The Virginia Tech junior dominated the 200 free (1:46.30), 100 free (49.13), 100 back (52.22) and 200 back (1:53.32). In addition to her four individual victories, the Singapore native contributed to the 200 medley and 200 free relay teams against Queens, as well as the 200 medley and 400 free relay teams against South Carolina.
