Anne Hathaway Channels Princess Diaries Vibes in Tribute to Jeremy Strong’s Globes Style

Anne Hathaway is playfully teasing her previous co-star Jeremy Strong.

At the 2025 Golden Globes held on Sunday, the actor donned a mint green velvet bucket hat along with a coordinating suit from Loro Piana, which ignited some reactions online.

A particularly notable response came from Hathaway, Strong’s co-star in Armageddon Time, who took to Instagram to poke fun at Strong’s appearance while also congratulating him on his nomination. Strong received a nomination for his portrayal of lawyer Roy Cohn in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice.

In her post, Hathaway posted an image of herself as Mia Thermopolis from the 2001 movie, featuring a similar bucket hat she wore to conceal her freshly styled hair.

“Darling, I’m not upset that you borrowed it, but I didn’t quite expect you were going to alter the col… anyway, not crucial, congrats on your well-deserved nomination for The Apprentice!!!”

At the Globes, Andrew Scott also commented on Strong’s outfit since he too opted for a vibrant blue suit, albeit in a different hue. When Scott and Strong encountered each other on the red carpet, they remarked on their similar fashion choices.

“We’re embodying the colors of the sea,” Scott remarked to Strong during an Entertainment Tonight interview. “We’re maritime chic.”

Heading into the ceremony, Emilia Pérez led the nominations with 10 recognitions, more than any other film or television feature. The film’s 10 nods broke the past record held by a comedic or musical film, surpassing Barbie, which received a total of nine nominations last year. Emilia Pérez was honored as best motion picture — musical or comedy and best non-English language film, while Zoe Saldaña, the movie’s star, secured the best supporting actress accolade for her role. The film’s track “El Mal” won best original song.

Strong’s co-star in Apprentice, Sebastian Stan, received the award for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture – musical or comedy for his role in A Different Man.

The Golden Globes were broadcast live on Sunday from the Beverly Hilton on CBS and streamed via Paramount+. Nikki Glaser was the host.
