Bimini Bon Boulash from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has honored her fellow contestant The Vivienne following the announcement of their unexpected passing over the weekend.

Originally from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, Bimini was a finalist in the second season of the BBC series after James Lee Williams, widely recognized as drag queen The Vivienne, took home the title in the first season of 2019.

News of their demise at the age of 32 was revealed on Sunday.

In a post on social media, Bimini expressed: “My heart is heavy. The Vivienne was truly cherished.”

Now residing in London, the performer continued on X: “An exceptional talent, sharp wit, and compassionate spirit.

“I am extending my love to every individual in our community today.

“Let those you care about know how significant they are.

“Grief is one of the harshest aspects of the human condition. Rest in peace.”

Williams, hailing from Wales, adopted her drag name due to her admiration for Vivienne Westwood fashion.

The Vivienne and Bimini had a shared publicist, Simon Jones, who communicated on social media that The Vivienne had passed away.

He requested privacy for the family of the star, before sharing his most treasured memories of them.

“No one has ever made me laugh in my life as much as Viv did. Their comedic brilliance and quick-fire humor was unrivaled,” Mr. Jones remarked in his tribute.

In reaction to the announcement, Bimini remarked: “I’m incredibly sorry. I’m in complete disbelief.”

Williams, who toured the UK and Ireland with a rendition of the Wizard of Oz, graced TV screens over Christmas with a celebrity version of the BBC’s Blankety Blank.

They were also cast as the Childcatcher in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tour and performed just a week ago in Blackpool.
