The 14th Edition of Imagining the World is currently open with a submission deadline of January 14th, 2025, at 11:59 PM. You can submit your photographs now at 

Imagining the World invites students, faculty, and staff to capture more than just a fleeting moment but rather to convey a deeply personal insight into the new country, culture, community, and world they discover. We welcome participation from all qualified individuals, irrespective of their photography skill level. This competition fosters accessibility, community engagement, diversity, and inclusivity.  

ELIGIBILITY:   

  • SU students: photographs taken between January 2024 and December 2024 while involved in any SU Education Abroad program*
  • SU faculty and staff: photographs taken between January 2024 and December 2024 while leading or being part of any SU Education Abroad program* or during research or other work assignments for Seattle University abroad.

International Students 

  • SU students: photographs taken in the US between January 2024 and December 2024
  • *Covers all SU-Sponsored, SU-Exchange, Faculty-Led, Non-SU, and non-credit immersion programs. Must be an SU student or employee when the photographs were captured.

  

Entries must align with the theme: “Imagining the World” and should transcend the “postcard” concept, showcasing the submitter’s perspective and comprehension of life within the host nation. A panel consisting of professional photographers evaluates the submissions based on technical quality and how effectively they represent the contest theme.
