Join the esteemed wildlife photographer Jason P. Odell for an engaging Bird Photography Workshop that merges skilled teaching, practical fieldwork, and tailored feedback. This workshop caters to photographers of any experience level, providing a rare chance to elevate your skills while observing and photographing the varied avian life of Catalina Island.

The workshop kicks off at 7:30 a.m. at the Trailhead Visitor Center in Avalon, where attendees will begin with an instructional session on photography basics, including composition, lighting, and camera settings. Following that, you will head out into the field, applying your newly learned skills to capture images of the island’s various bird species. Subsequently, you will return to the Trailhead Visitor Center for a review session, where Jason will offer personalized critiques to assist in improving your techniques.

The course fee encompasses: Expert instruction, practical field experience, personalized critiques, lunch, and a checklist of Catalina Island birds.

Lunch is included; however, please remember to bring a reusable water container. Dress appropriately for a day in the field, including layers, sun protection, long pants, and sturdy footwear.

Jason P. Odell is a celebrated wildlife photographer, author, and instructor located in Colorado. He has published over a dozen eBooks on photography and image enhancement and regularly contributes to various photography outlets. Jason conducts workshops and photographic tours globally, imparting his knowledge to photographers of all levels.
