Today, the Department of Defense revealed a $14.3 million grant to Anduril Industries, Inc. (Anduril) located in Costa Mesa, California, through Title III of the Defense Production Act (DPA). This funding is an extension of Anduril’s impressive $75 million private investment and assists the 2024 National Defense Industrial Strategy in promoting supply chain resilience and boosting domestic manufacturing in key priority sectors.
“The combined funding will enhance initiatives to raise production capacity at Anduril’s plant for designing, manufacturing, and testing solid rocket motor (SRM) systems, fostering innovation, and enlarging the industrial base,” said Dr. Laura Taylor-Kale, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy. “This will subsequently provide domestic manufacturing capabilities necessary to satisfy critical requirements for current and upcoming U.S. systems.”
This DPA Title III financing will enhance Anduril’s capacity to modernize and grow its SRM production by upgrading existing manufacturing facilities and refining the manufacturing techniques used for SRM production. Activities related to Anduril’s energetic work, including casting, curing, quality control, and final assembly will take place at the Geisler Building in the company’s site in McHenry, Mississippi. This strategic initiative aims to improve Anduril’s current capability to undertake new development and qualification projects, as well as deliver essential munitions at scale to the warfighter.
“The initiative will streamline SRM production by designing a set of processes that reduce expenses, enhance manufacturing speed, and elevate product quality,” indicated Mr. Anthony Di Stasio, Director of the Manufacturing Capability Expansion and Investment Prioritization (MCEIP) directorate. “This strategic investment will make the creation of new SRMs more economical, faster, and less susceptible to non-conformances.”
This represents one of five grants issued by the DPA Purchases Office across diverse areas, totaling $290.8 million since the start of fiscal year 2025. The DPA Purchases Office operates under the supervision of the MCEIP directorate.

The OASD(IBP) collaborates with both domestic and international partners to establish and maintain a robust, secure, and resilient industrial base that empowers the warfighter, now and in the future. OASD(IBP) also employs a new Defense Industrial Base Consortium Other Transaction Agreement (DIBC OTA) to seek innovative ideas for research or prototype project solutions targeted at critical Supply Chain Resilience Focus Areas. It highlights the Department’s ongoing commitment to protect the integrity of our vital supply chain and provide our warfighters with necessary materials and technologies promptly.
