Samsung Unveils the Future of Gaming: Odyssey 3D Monitor Makes Waves at CES 2025

CES 2025 is an occasion that’s consistently brimming with thrilling new gadgets set to launch in the upcoming year, but Samsung is raising the stakes by unveiling a 3D gaming monitor.

The Samsung Odyssey 3D G90XF is a 27″ gaming display that incorporates a lens integrated into the chassis, in conjunction with an AI algorithm to provide a 3D gaming experience without the necessity of 3D glasses. The most exciting aspect? You’re not required to have 3D content to enjoy it, as the algorithm can transform certain 2D content into 3D. Only time will reveal if Samsung can effectively execute this. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit the Samsung booth, but I will ensure to update this article if I manage to check it out.

This 3D monitor is merely a segment of an extensive assortment of gaming displays that Samsung is introducing at the Las Vegas technology exposition. Additionally, the tech behemoth revealed a new iteration of the Samsung M9 Smart Monitor, which will also utilize AI. This time, the AI is designed to analyze the content you are viewing and modify the picture settings to enhance whatever content you are experiencing.

Naturally, there are also a few more conventional gaming monitors available. The Samsung Odyssey G8 and G6 are both receiving an update, both being fairly typical 27″ gaming displays. Both of these monitors are significantly faster than their predecessors, with the Odyssey G8 featuring a 240Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution, and the G6 ramping that all the way up to 500Hz at 1440p. Such combinations of resolution and refresh rate will necessitate a powerful graphics card, likely an RTX 4090 or an even more formidable option.

Samsung has yet to disclose the launch dates or pricing for any of these gaming displays. However, given the advanced nature of the Odyssey 3DG90XF, it’s reasonable to assume it will be expensive.
