OCEANSIDE, Calif. – The Oregon State gymnastics team achieved second place in the initial session of the 2025 American Gold Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Classic on Saturday, recording a score of 195.775, surpassing No. 10 UCLA (195.250) and finishing just half a point shy of No. 4 California (196.225).

Jade Carey showcased a remarkable performance, clinching the all-around title with a score of 39.625, while also attaining the highest scores in the session with a 9.950 on beam and a 9.900 on floor, tied for the top mark. Her scores on vault (9.875) and bars (9.900) placed her in third position.

The latter half of the Beaver bars emerged as one of the nation’s best last season, and this trend continued on Saturday, as the trio consisting of Jennifer McMillan (9.925), Sage Thompson (9.825), and Carey’s 9.990 provided OSU with crucial momentum during the third rotation.

McMillan participated in three events and posted one score among the top two of all competitors, building on a solid finish to the 2024 season on bars, resulting in her 9.925. Earlier in the meet, the native of Charlotte, N.C., performed her first vault as a Beaver and received a score of 9.775.

Oregon State reserved its finest performance for last, concluding the meet on beam and scoring higher on that apparatus than any other. Lauren Letzsch made her competitive comeback after missing the 2024 season, securing a score of 9.825, while Sydney Gonzalez achieved a 9.775 in her first appearance since suffering a season-ending injury against UCLA in the previous season.

Taylor DeVries participated on beam and floor for the first time in her career, in addition to competing on bars.

The Oregon State gymnastics team will return to action next weekend, hosting BYU at Gill Coliseum.

Season ticket options start at $35 and can be acquired by clicking here or by contacting the Beaver Ticket Office at 1-800-GO-BEAVS. Individual meet tickets are also available for purchase here.
