“Triumphant Trifecta: East Carolina, FIU, and Tulane Shine with Weekly Accolades!”

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has revealed the recipients of the league’s weekly awards for swimming and diving.
 
SWIMMING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Maya Wilson, Graduate Student, Tulane
Wilson achieved four event victories at the FIU Sprint Invite over the last weekend. She dominated the sprint freestyle disciplines, clinching the 100-yard freestyle with a meet record time of 51.67, the 50 free in 23.67, and the 200 free in 1:53.71. Additionally, the graduate student secured first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.62.
 
NEWCOMER SWIMMING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Tawannah McLemore, FIU
McLemore attained two event victories alongside two fourth-place finishes at the FIU Sprint Invite in Miami, Florida. The newcomer triumphed in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 58.46 and the 50-yard butterfly in 25.05. She also placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.77 and the 100 fly in 59.30.
 
DIVING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Frida Zuniga Guzman, Redshirt Junior, East Carolina
Zuniga Guzman dominated the springboard events against Georgia Southern and UNC Asheville. She won the 1-meter competition with a total score of 275.45 points and clinched the 3-meter event with 277.15 points.
 
NEWCOMER DIVING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Brooke Megdall, FIU
Megdall took second place in the platform event at the FIU Diving Invitational, scoring 207.30 points. She also secured sixth place in the 1-meter preliminaries with a score of 227.55.
