Unleashing the Future: Asus ROG’s 2025 Laptops Pack a Punch with RTX 5090 Power!

At CES today, Asus unveiled its range of gaming laptops for 2025, several of which include Nvidia’s latest high-performance GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards.

The Asus ROG Strix SCAR series is crafted for the pinnacle of gaming, featuring highly effective cooling mechanisms alongside premium hardware. Conversely, the Zephyrus models represent an ideal equilibrium of portability and power. Let’s get started, everyone.

Asus ROG Strix SCAR (Models of 16- and 18-inches)

The 2025 Asus ROG Strix SCAR laptops are offered in both 16 and 18-inch options, engineered for unbridled performance. They will feature the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 Series graphics, alongside as much as 64GB of DDR5 RAM and 4TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage.

The 1400p mini-LED screen boasts a refresh rate of 240Hz, with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and complete 100 percent DCI-P3 color coverage, ensuring it delivers incredibly smooth visuals as well as a bright and precise image. Additional impressive features comprise a tool-less access design (for effortless access) and an Aura RGB light bar circling the chassis.

The cooling system is (ahem) impressive, too. It incorporates a custom vapor chamber along with a stacked heat sink, which places a high thermal conductivity material between two layers, thereby enhancing heat transfer.

We haven’t received a response from Asus concerning the launch timeline or pricing, but we will refresh this article accordingly once that information becomes available.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16

The Asus ROG Zephyrus series gaming laptops are recognized for their lightweight designs and powerful internals, with the 2025 versions remaining true to the legacy of their predecessors. The latest ROG Zephyrus G14 weighs 3.31 pounds at a maximum thickness of 0.62 inches, while the new G16 weighs 4.08 pounds with a maximum thickness of 0.58 inches. That’s remarkably light and slender, particularly for a gaming laptop.

The ROG Zephyrus G16 variant is packed with the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor, while the G14 model features the cutting-edge AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor. Asus asserts that the G14 employs “sturdy heat pipes,” and the G17 benefits from several “vapor chambers.” Maintaining optimal thermal conditions for the hardware is crucial for performance, so it’s commendable to witness the focus on efficient cooling, especially given the thin and lightweight nature of these laptops.

Regarding the screen, the G14 boasts a 1620p display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 0.2ms response time. For the G16, it offers a 1400p OLED screen featuring a 240Hz refresh rate along with a “comparable response time,” as stated by Asus. If you are engaged in fast-paced gaming such as Overwatch or Valorant, a higher refresh rate will lead to more fluid gameplay (although we would be astonished to discover a high-end RTX 5090 in such a slim laptop).

They will come in either Platinum White or Eclipse Gray variations. There’s no information yet on the launch date or cost, but we have contacted Asus and will revise this article as soon as we receive a response.

Asus ROG Flow Z13

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 presents somewhat of a novelty (in the most positive sense) as it is a 2-in-1 gaming tablet rather than a standard clamshell laptop. While it might not appeal to every gamer, it remains a distinctive product that merits consideration. The 2025 edition, as anticipated, showcases quite formidable hardware.

The 2025 iteration includes an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 processor, a 70 watt-hour battery, and a 1440p 180Hz touchscreen. The chassis has been constructed using CNC aluminum and is equipped with a 170-degree kickstand, enhancing its versatility remarkably.

The steel vapor chamber, designed to maintain optimal hardware temperature under heavy use, has been upgraded with second generation Arc Flow Fans. According to Asus, the blades create “variable thickness and shape” to “maximize airflow efficiency.”

The 2025 Asus ROG Flow Z13 is anticipated to debut later during Q1.
