All this is achieved while retaining standard touchscreen functionality, and now offering users the ability to switch to a monochrome mode at the push of a button. There’s even a new Mac Ink Mode, providing a more paper-like reading experience in certain optimized applications.
Moreover, the battery is anticipated to endure for several days in color mode, or up to 27 days in standby mode with Max Ink activated. Most smartphones featuring this technology tend to be bulky, resembling phones affixed to external power banks; thus, achieving a slimmer design is quite an accomplishment. Expect this device to hit U.S. markets later this year, with prices starting around $199.
Nvidia RTX 50-series GPUs
While we anticipated this, it has now been officially confirmed. Nvidia has unveiled the new RTX 50-series graphics cards, spearheaded by the flagship GeForce RTX 5090. This series will also include the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and the RTX 5070 — all available in laptop and desktop versions.

It may sound like a scene from a thriller, yet this is an actual innovation that Samsung has showcased at CES 2025. Dubbed Stretchable MicroLED, we witnessed a demonstration where a shark appears to push through the television. Rather than relying on 3D visual tricks, the screen genuinely bulged out in relation to the shark.
Are there practical uses for this technology? Frankly, I’m unsure. The tech appears to be quite restricted, with Samsung’s demo focused on a single 6-inch panel bulging at eye level. This size is smaller than most flagship smartphones. Regardless, it’s fascinating to witness that tech companies are still exploring future possibilities for screens, even if it may never reach consumer products.
Anker heads to the beach
While technology and the ocean typically don’t pair well, there’s always space for some chic gadgets on the beach — provided you don’t leave them behind when the tide comes in. Anker has proposed some innovative solutions for your beach outings, including an electric cooler and a solar-powered beach umbrella.

All powered by Peroskite solar cells, which are touted to be 30% more efficient than conventional crystalline silicon solar cells. This makes it ideal for energizing EverFrost coolers, your smartphone, and any other gadgets you deem safe to bring to the beach. The umbrella also holds an IP67 rating, indicating it can withstand various environmental conditions. Pricing details are yet to be revealed, but it is set to launch this summer.
Amazfit Active 2

Making its official debut way back at CES 2020, Samsung Ballie is now confirmed to be a tangible product you can purchase — rather than merely a concept. Samsung has not revealed many fresh details about Ballie’s capabilities, so we can only presume that what was showcased at CES 2024 will be available with your own personal yellow robotic ball companion.
Features include engaging with pets through Ballie, which I suspect wouldn’t be well received by my dogs, along with acting as an additional pair of eyes around your home. The 2024 iteration of Ballie even has a projector built in, capable of projecting stars and meetings onto adjacent surfaces.
We did not receive any pricing information, nor details regarding Ballie’s actual launch locations. South Korea appears to be almost guaranteed, but there’s no affirmation about a potential U.S. release. As it stands, all we know is that Ballie will be launched sometime in the first half of this year.
Acer Nitro Blaze 8 and 11
Gaming handhelds are far from fading away, and Acer has just unveiled two brand new models for 2025: The Acer Nitro Blaze 8 and the larger Nitro Blaze 11. The Blaze 11 excites us the most, not solely because of its expansive 11-inch display, but also owing to its Nintendo Switch-like design.
