Capturing Offaly: A Vibrant Celebration of Culture and Beauty Through the Lens

THE Capturing Offaly initiative is a community-centric endeavor, designed to honor Offaly’s cultural richness and allure through photography.

This venture was coordinated by Claire Hall and Stephanie Hill, members of the Social Inclusion Team at Offaly Local Development Company.

Local artist Tom O’Hanlon joined the project, leading introductory photography classes throughout the region.

Emphasizing smartphone photography, these classes were available to all, promoting participation from individuals of varying ages and skill levels.

By conducting workshops across the county, this initiative not only fostered artistic creativity but also enhanced the individuals’ connection to their environment, illustrating Offaly’s scenery, ecosystem, and heritage through the perspectives of its residents.

Participants featured in the calendar gathered to commemorate its unveiling at Tullamore Library and received framed copies of their entries, recognizing their contributions.
