LOS ANGELES – Kansas graduate center Hunter Dickinson has secured a spot on the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List, as announced by the Los Angeles Athletic Club today.

Selected by a survey of national college basketball analysts based on their achievements during the 2024-25 season to date, the list consists of 25 student-athletes who are likely candidates for the Wooden Award. A two-time Wooden All-American, at Michigan in 2021 and at Kansas in 2024, Dickinson aims to become the third Jayhawk to achieve the Wooden Award, following Danny Manning (1988) and Frank Mason III (2017).

Dickinson has made the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List four times, including during his time at Michigan in 2022 and 2023, as well as at Kansas in 2024 and 2025. Even though he was absent from the Wooden Award Midseason 25 Watch List, Dickinson finished 2021 as a Wooden All-American.

Having recently completed his fourth game of the season with 20 or more points, scoring 27 at UCF (1/5), Dickinson is leading Kansas in scoring at 16.0 ppg and rebounding at 10.3 rpg. A three-time Big 12 Player of the Week, Dickinson is at the forefront of the Big 12 in double-doubles (7), ranking 11th nationally, and is second in rebounds per game (10.3), placing 14th on a national scale. The Alexandria, Virginia, native also boasts 20 blocked shots, leading KU, and is second on the team with 18 steals.

Dickinson stands as the only active player in NCAA Division I with over 2,400 career points and 1,200 career rebounds. To date, Dickinson has achieved 2,416 points and 1,282 rebounds.

The individuals on the list are regarded as strong contenders for the 2025 John R. Wooden Award Men’s Player of the Year. Those not chosen for the midseason list can still be considered for the Wooden Award late-season list and the National Ballot. The National Ballot will contain 15 leading players demonstrating exceptional qualifications for the Wooden Award as recognized by their universities.

Close to 1,000 voters will be invited to rank 10 out of the 15 players on the ballot based on their preferences once voting begins during the NCAA Tournament. Voters will also assess performances in the tournament’s initial rounds, along with players’ contributions to their teams and their character. The announcement of the Wooden Award All-American Team will take place during the week of the NCAA Tournament’s “Elite Eight.”

The recipients and All Americans of the 2025 John R. Wooden Award, presented by Principal, will be celebrated at the Los Angeles Athletic Club on Friday, April 11, 2025.
