“Empowerment in Action: Join the UNLV and Las Vegas Aces as They Celebrate Girls & Women in Sports Day!”

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV athletic department along with women’s sports teams and the Las Vegas Aces organization will unite to commemorate the 39th annual observance of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, February 1, by organizing a complimentary sports clinic prior to the Lady Rebels’ home game that afternoon against their in-state rival UNR at the Cox Pavilion.
 

The morning will commence with a free sports clinic featuring players and staff from various athletic teams at UNLV, with assistance from members of the Aces organization for children in 8th grade and younger at the Thomas & Mack Center. Registration will open at 10:30 a.m. with the clinic starting at 11:00 a.m., featuring different stations arranged throughout the TMC floor. After the event concludes, all participants are invited to attend the UNLV Lady Rebels rivalry game against UNR at no cost, with the game scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Cox Pavilion. Every participant will receive a complimentary rally towel, two tickets to the game, and entry for kids remains free.

NGWSD is recognized in all 50 states through community-focused events, award ceremonies, and activities celebrating the accomplishments and fostering involvement of girls and women in sports, beginning in 1987. The nationwide observance is collaboratively organized by the Women’s Sports Foundation.
