“Masterpiece Unleashed: Dive into Season 5 of All Creatures Great and Small!”

It’s Spring 1941, and we revisit Darrowby, where young infant Jimmy is keeping everyone at Skeldale House on their toes. Helen is adjusting to motherhood with James stationed at RAF Abingdon, Mrs. Hall and Siegfried are relishing the presence of a little one, and Carmody has now become a fully integrated member of the Skeldale household. With World War II in full swing, Siegfried is assuming the responsibilities at the surgery, Mrs. Hall and Helen are contemplating their role in the community, and Carmody is enthusiastic about stepping forward. Siegfried is eager to have everyone return, but Tristan’s unexpected homecoming will be more complicated than he anticipated.

Episode 1: “To All our Boys” premieres Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – A health scare keeps James grounded, leading to confusion between Siegfried and Carmody regarding an animal. Helen offers assistance to an old acquaintance, while Mrs. Hall encounters difficulties when she decides to contribute to the war effort.

Episode 2: “Holding the Baby” premieres Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – Infant Jimmy accompanies James and Carmody on their rounds. Helen is bemused to discover Jenny with a new best friend. Mrs. Hall starts her role as an ARP Warden and attempts to maintain peace between Siegfried and the overly forceful Mr. Bosworth when disaster strikes.

Episode 3: “Homecoming” premieres Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – During Jimmy’s Christening Day, an unexpected visitor disrupts the proceedings, leading Siegfried to make a promise he finds hard to keep. A furry companion assists Helen in finding commonality with James’ mother.

Episode 4: “Uninvited Guests” premieres Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – Tristan’s initial encounter with Carmody goes awry. They are tasked with apprehending a wandering animal, aiming to set aside their differences. Meanwhile, James confronts unaddressed emotions regarding the war when he least expects it.

Episode 5: “Pair Bond” premieres Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – Carmody receives an incredible opportunity, leaving Siegfried questioning whether he is hindering his protégé. Mrs. Hall must address an unlikely crisis in Darrowby. Siegfried and Carmody need to focus on their romantic pursuits.

Episode 6: “Glass Half Full” premieres Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – James contracts brucellosis, bringing long-suppressed feelings to the forefront. A malfunctioning vehicle compels Siegfried and Tristan to renegotiate their relationship with humorous outcomes.

Episode 7: “All God’s Creatures” premieres Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Encore Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. on KPBS 2 – Skeldale House gets ready for Christmas – and Jimmy’s initial birthday – without the traditional festive goodies on hand. Mrs. Hall has discovered how to create the perfect Christmas ambience, but when a disturbing news alert shatters her peace, the Skeldale family endeavors to support her. A young boy enters the surgery with an abandoned fox cub, causing Mrs. Hall to feel an unexplainable bond with the creature.
