Musselman and Stocker Crowned WAC’s Top Swimmer and Diver of the Week!

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Jan. 8, 2024) – This week, two Lumberjacks received accolades from the Western Athletic Conference.

Elsa Musselman was honored as WAC Swimmer of the Week after triumphing in the 200-yard butterfly during the duel meeting with Arizona, finishing at 2:04.47. The junior from San Antonio, Texas, also played a role in a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, collaborating with Kokona Watanabe, Kaci Kelaher, and Bena Koehn to achieve a time of 1:36.46.

Moreover, Musselman participated in the 400-yard medley relay, where the NAU A team – comprising Gracie Munk, Cydnie Perkins, Musselman, and Koehn – recorded the quickest time for the Lumberjacks, finishing in third place with a total time of 3:48.80.

Mackenna Stocker, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., was awarded WAC Diver of the Week honors for the second time this season and the third time in her career. In the 3-meter dive against Arizona, Stocker achieved a score of 262.43 to secure first place and earned a tie for second in the 1-meter with a score of 265.20.

The Northern Arizona divers are set to compete at the California Baptist Diving Invite in Riverside, California, from Jan. 9-11. The swimmers will be back in action for a dual meet against Utah Tech from Jan. 24-25.
