ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Harper Houk and Omar Elsayed have been recognized as the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, for the competition week concluding on Sunday, Jan. 5.
Houk, a graduate student, displayed notable performances in the breaststroke events during GCU’s dual meet against Arizona State. He secured two second-place finishes with times of 55.26 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:00.76 in the 200 breaststroke.
Elsayed, a freshman, earned his second WAC Diver of the Week accolade this year after finishing second in the 3-meter event with a score of 308.63. He also achieved a score of 212.33 points in the 1-meter dive.
