TCU Triumphs Over Kansas with a Thrilling 80-73 Victory: Game Highlights from January 8, 2025

LAWRENCE, Kan. — — Sedona Prince recorded 30 points and 14 rebounds, achieving her seventh double-double of the season, while Hailey Van Lith contributed 19 points and six assists, leading No. 11 TCU to an 80-73 victory over Kansas on Wednesday.

TCU (16-1, 4-0 Big 12) extended its second four-game winning streak in conference play under the guidance of head coach Mark Campbell.

Van Lith executed a three-point play with 6:41 remaining in the final quarter to establish a 68-56 advantage. Kansas then netted eight of the subsequent 10 points, narrowing the margin to six points before TCU guard Taylor Bigby launched a wide-open 3-pointer from the corner with 2:25 on the clock, extending the lead to 73-64.

S’Mya Nichols registered Kansas’ last nine points to reduce the difference to 76-73 with 30.7 seconds remaining. However, Van Lith and Madison Conner clinched the game by converting 4 of 4 free throws in the final moments.

Bigby concluded the match with 12 points, while Conner, who averages 16.8 points per game, delivered all nine of her points in the second half for TCU.

Nichols accumulated 24 points, and Elle Evans contributed 19 for Kansas (11-4, 1-3). Laia Conesa scored 12.

TCU held a 38-32 lead at halftime, fueled by 20 points and eight rebounds from Prince. She wrapped up the contest shooting 12 of 21 from the field and 6 of 10 from the charity stripe, coming within one point of her season-high of 31 points.

The matchup was originally slated for Tuesday evening but was postponed due to winter weather conditions in the vicinity.

TCU will continue on the road to face Texas Tech on Saturday, while Kansas will compete against Colorado.
