2025 Football Showdown: Sun Belt Reveals Exciting Cross-Divisional Matchups!

NEW ORLEANS – James Madison’s 2025 opponent lineup is finalized, as the Sun Belt Conference revealed its cross-divisional opponent list for the forthcoming college football season on Thursday.
 
Once more, the Dukes will host six contests at Bridgeforth Stadium while competing in six additional ones, featuring eight matchups and four non-conference games.
 
Each season, a team competes against all six rivals in its division with three home and three away encounters. The conference schedule is rounded out by playing two teams from the opposite division, including one home and one away game.
 
Dates for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference schedule will be disclosed no later than March 1, 2025, as indicated by the conference office.
 
JMU’s home conference calendar includes contests against App State, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, and Old Dominion. The Dukes will embark on conference road excursions to Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Marshall, and Texas State.

This will mark the first encounter between JMU and Louisiana, as the Dukes will have competed against all 13 rival Sun Belt teams after that game next fall.

 

The Sun Belt Conference sanctioned the cross-divisional opponents format that will extend over seven years to complete. A full rotation entails one home game and one away game against each cross-divisional counterparty.

 

JMU’s 12-game schedule is finalized with home games against Weber State on Aug. 30 and Washington State on Nov. 22, in addition to road games at Louisville on Sep. 6 and Liberty on Sept. 20.

 

Kickoff times and television network assignments for the first three weeks of the regular season will be revealed by ESPN and the Sun Belt later in the spring.
