MUNCIE, Ind. – Six players from Ball State’s football team have been selected for the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Football Team in NCAA Division I. Academic All-District teams honor the nation’s leading student-athletes for their achievements both in sports and academics. The CSC Academic All-America initiative also separately honors football players across four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
 
Tight end Christian Abney, linebacker Jack Beebe, safety Jordan Coleman, kicker Jackson Courville, offensive lineman Chris Hood, and wide receiver Cam Pickett have all received the Academic All-District recognition. All six Ball State athletes fulfilled the Academic All-America nomination requirements with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA and either played in 90 percent of their team’s games last season or started in 66 percent of the institution’s contests.
 
Ball State student-athletes recognized on the CSC Academic All-District Football Team:
Christian Abney – Tight End, So., 3.77 GPA, Business Administration, Zionsville, Ind.
Jack Beebe – Linebacker, R.-Jr., 3.80 GPA, Business Analytics, Plainfield, Ind.
Jordan Coleman – Safety, R-So., 3.66 GPA, Business Analytics, Saint Peters, Mo.
Jackson Courville – Kicker, So., 4.00 GPA, Marketing, Dayton, Ohio
Chris Hood – Offensive Line, R-So., 3.57 GPA, Hospitality Innovation and Leadership, Kendallville, Ind.
Cam Pickett – Wide Receiver, R-So., 3.61 GPA, Computer Information Systems, Chicago, Ill.
