“Tiger Splashdown: Swimming & Diving Takes the Plunge Against Austin College”

Trinity University’s Swimming & Diving Teams are set to compete in Sherman against Austin College this weekend.
 
During their most recent competition, the Tigers clinched both championships at the Tiger Invitational with remarkable prowess. Both squads achieved significant victories, accumulating a total of seven individual and relay triumphs, in addition to 11 further second- and third-place finishes throughout the swimming finals. Trinity concluded the three-day event by securing first and second place in both of the final relay races, accentuating their team successes. The men’s squad amassed an impressive 1,116 points, finishing over 100 points in front of their rivals. The women’s team showed even greater strength, finishing ahead of the closest school by over 600 points, with a three-day total of 1,222.5 points.
 
CSCAA Top 25 – Tigers Ranked 18th and 21st
 
In a national survey carried out by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the Tiger women’s team was placed 16th, while the Tiger men’s team secured the 21st position. The women advanced two spots from their last ranking, and the men rose three places. In the men’s category, NYU, Emory, and Denison claim the top three positions, whereas the women’s rankings are led by Emory, Kenyon, and MIT.
 
Preview – Back In The Pool
 
The Tigers will be back in the water against Austin College on Saturday, January 11th. The Roos have claimed victories over McMurry and UT-Permian Basin but suffered a loss to Southwestern this season. Theo Rogers is Austin College’s leading male swimmer, participating in freestyle, freestyle relay, and breaststroke events. For the Kangaroo women’s team, freshman Lexy Hulse is the standout athlete, also competing in freestyle, freestyle relay, and breaststroke events. Earlier in the season, Trinity faced Austin College at the Tiger Invitational, where the Tigers dominated, achieving a combined score of 2,483.5-165. In last year’s dual meet, the Tiger women won decisively 227-28, while the men triumphed 235-24. This will be the third consecutive year that Trinity has gone up against Austin College in a dual competition.

The Tigers are scheduled to swim against Southwestern at home on January 18th.
