Unveiling Innovations: GFN Thursday Highlights from CES!

This GFN Thursday summarizes the latest cloud-related updates from the CES expo, including the expansion of GeForce RTX gaming across popular platforms like Steam Deck, Apple Vision Pro spatial devices, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and Pico mixed-reality products.

Gamers in India will also have the chance to access their PC gaming library at GeForce RTX 4080 standards with an Ultimate membership for the very first time within the region. This follows the expansion in Chile and Colombia through GeForce NOW Alliance collaborator Digevo.

More AAA gaming is on the horizon, with the highly awaited titles DOOM: The Dark Ages and Avowed becoming part of GeForce NOW’s vast library of over 2,100 supported titles upon their release on PC later this year.

Moreover, no GFN Thursday is truly complete without new arrivals. Prepare for six new titles joining the cloud this week.

Cloudy Ambitions

CES 2025 is nearing its conclusion, yet GeForce NOW members still have much to anticipate.

Members will soon be able to enjoy over 2,100 titles from the GeForce NOW cloud library at GeForce RTX quality on Valve’s renowned Steam Deck device with the upcoming launch of a native GeForce NOW application, set for later this year. Steam Deck gamers will be able to enjoy all the same perks as GeForce RTX 4080 GPU possessors with a GeForce NOW Ultimate membership, including NVIDIA DLSS 3 technology for superior frame rates and NVIDIA Reflex for minimal latency.

GeForce NOW provides an exceptional streaming experience, regardless of how Steam Deck users choose to play, whether in handheld mode for high dynamic range (HDR)-quality imagery, connected to a display for up to 1440p 120 frames per second HDR, or linked to a television for large-screen streaming at up to 4K 60 fps.

GeForce NOW members can experience RTX ON with the Steam Deck for lifelike gameplay on supported games, as well as HDR10 and SDR10 when connected to a compatible screen for richer, more precise color gradients.

Dive into a new realm of gaming on a grand scale. Collaborating with Apple, Meta, and ByteDance, NVIDIA is extending GeForce NOW cloud gaming to Apple Vision Pro spatial devices, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and Pico virtual and mixed-reality platforms — with all the advantages of NVIDIA innovations, including ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS.

Furthermore, NVIDIA is set to unveil the inaugural GeForce RTX-enabled data center in India this year, enhancing gaming accessibility worldwide. This follows the recent establishment of GeForce NOW in Colombia and Chile — powered by GeForce NOW Alliance partner Digevo — alongside the imminent launch in Thailand, managed by GeForce NOW Alliance partner Brothers Picture.

Game On

AAA titles from renowned publishers are making their way to the cloud. Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment, celebrated for iconic franchises like Fallout: New Vegas, will be available on GeForce NOW. The cloud gaming service will also introduce DOOM: The Dark Ages from id Software — the venerable studio responsible for the DOOM series. These titles will be accessible upon their PC launch this year.

Avowed, a first-person fantasy role-playing adventure, is set to join the cloud on its PC release on Tuesday, February 18. Assume the role of an envoy from the Aedyr Empire, tasked with probing a mysterious epidemic. Combine weapons and magic freely — wield dual wands, couple a sword with a pistol, or opt for a more familiar sword-and-shield strategy. Players will meet companions within the game who possess unique skills and narratives that can be shaped by their decisions.

DOOM: The Dark Ages serves as the solo-player, action-packed first-person shooter prequel to the lauded DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. Step into the shoes of the DOOM Slayer, the renowned demon-slaying hero battling relentlessly against Hell. Discover the grand cinematic backstory of the DOOM Slayer’s fury in 2025.
