For some, winter weather can be an inconvenience, but for Preston Lane and his daughters, McCayla and Saniya, this snow day swiftly transformed into a chance for enjoyment and familial connections.

The thrill began early for Lane and his daughters. Eager for the snowfall, Lane found himself rising at 1 a.m. Friday morning to see if the snowflakes had started to descend. As the day progressed, the predictions came to fruition, with snow commencing to fall around 8 a.m. at their residence on Sutton Mill Road.

Originally hailing from Victor, Montana, Lane is familiar with snowy conditions. The quaint town adjacent to the Idaho border, situated between the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountain Ranges, experiences its fair share of wintry weather, and Lane’s enthusiasm for snow clearly remains undiminished.

Once sufficient snow had gathered on the slope in front of their home, the family was prepared to seize the moment. Sleds in hand, Preston, McCayla, and Saniya exited with excitement to conquer the long, steep hill.
