The Strule Arts Centre in Omagh is presenting the inaugural solo photography exhibition “My Happy Places” by photographer Cara Coll from Drumquin. Starting on Thursday, 9 January, this showcase features a mesmerizing array of seasonal landscapes that honor the splendor of nature.

This collection provides a distinctive view of the natural world, capturing ephemeral moments such as a bee in flight, a fragile cobweb, or a breathtaking Donegal scenery. The photographs narrate tales, stir emotions, and encourage observers to contemplate the beauty and connections within their environment. These images surpass language barriers and age divisions, rendering them relatable and significant to everyone.

The Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry, praised Cara, saying:

“These visuals highlight your exceptional skills as a photographer – capturing the ideal image at the precise moment, paying attention to intricate details to encapsulate the scene, and crafting an artistic vision by harmonizing all elements in the photograph is incredibly commendable.

The Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is dedicated to fostering the arts and supporting local talent, so I am thrilled that you have the chance to showcase your stunning photographs here at the Strule Arts Centre for our community and visitors to admire and appreciate.

I want to congratulate you on your first solo exhibition, and I urge everyone to inform others to come and view the exhibition while it remains on display here until Saturday, 25 January 2025.”

The exhibition will be open from Friday, 10 January, to Saturday, 25 January 2025, with visiting hours from Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
