PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics squad is set to kick off its 2025 season this coming Friday night with a tri-meet at Iowa State, competing alongside the hosting Cyclones and the University of Iowa. The event is scheduled to commence at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

SEASON OPENERS
In the past two seasons, Brown has recorded its highest scores during season-openers, achieving a 192.950 in the 2024 debut at Oregon State and a 191.225 at Yale in 2023 (both dual competitions).

NCAA REGIONALS
Junior Julia Bedell represented the Ivy League as the sole gymnast to participate at the NCAA Regionals in 2024, performing on floor in the Florida Regional in Gainesville and registering a score of 9.650.

2023 USAG RECAP
In the previous season, six athletes from Brown qualified for the individual finals at the USAG Nationals, collectively securing 10 All-America honors. Four of these gymnasts are returning for the 2025 season, boasting a total of six All-America distinctions among them, including Julia Bedell (vault), Maya Davis (bars and floor), Sophia Dewar (vault and floor), and Liza Marcus (beam).

GEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Last year, Brown secured third place at the 2024 GEC Championships, accumulating a score of 194.450 points and having four athletes collectively earn five All-GEC Championship team accolades. The Bears have finished in the top four at each of the first three GEC Championships since the inaugural event in 2022.

The Bears ranked 59th nationally in both 2022 and 2023, marking their highest ranking in the program’s history.

ALL-IVY
Brown welcomes back two All-Ivy athletes from the 2024 Ivy Classic, Julia Bedell (vault and floor) and Sophia Dewar (vault). The graduated senior Lauren McKeown (bars) also earned All-Ivy status last season.
