Innovative Gadgets That Captivated Us in 2023

The Consumer Electronics Show aims to provide us a glimpse into cutting-edge technology that could define the upcoming year, and CES 2025 followed suit. I experienced several demonstrations, including viewing content in Dolby Vision inside a vehicle, observing a laptop extend its display, and more. However, these five demonstrations stood out in their own distinctive ways.

A Stretchable Display

Samsung Display presented a variety of rollable, foldable, vibrant OLED, and more displays. Yet, the one that garnered the most interest was the stretchable display. Although we were prohibited from touching it, the demonstration was remarkable.

The conceptual screen is fabricated from Micro LED and can stretch to create a 3D-like effect for your visuals. For example, when a shark strikes the screen, it expands to deliver a more immersive experience. While it’s not going to be released imminently, this is a concept I hope to see in the market soon.

Arc Sport EV Boat

I don’t drive frequently and have only operated three EVs up until now. However, the EV I experienced at CES 2025 was distinct and the most thrilling CES demonstration I have ever encountered.

This was the $258,000 Arc Sport boat that nearly felt like it was soaring on water. It’s equipped with a 570-horsepower motor, combined with 226kWh of battery capacity, tailored for the wake sports audience.

The Arc Sport can achieve speeds up to 40 mph, and depending on your driving speed and battery usage, it allows for more than six hours on the water. You can currently reserve it for $500, and it is expected to ship shortly.

Smart Glasses With Invisible Display

The Halliday Glasses are unlike any others I’ve tried previously. Most smart glasses integrate screens into the lens, but these glasses exhibit an innovative design. There’s no screen on the lens, yet you receive a 3.5-inch display-like field of view.

This is due to the asserted “world’s smallest optical module” embedded within the frame. Much like other AI glasses, the Halliday Glasses provide a teleprompter, translations in over 40 languages, navigation, and additional features. 2025 appears to be the year for smart glasses, and these certainly have a unique design.

An OLED laptop lighter and more affordable than the MacBook Air

This may initially not appear to be one of the most impressive products at CES 2025, but I was genuinely astonished upon picking up the Asus Zenbook A14 for the first time.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X-driven ultrabook features a 14-inch OLED display, four ports, a claimed all-day battery life, and weighs merely 2.18 pounds (990 grams), making it over 0.50 pounds (230 grams) lighter than the smaller 13-inch MacBook Air.

The Snapdragon X variant includes 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, while the X Plus version provides 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of PCIe 4.0 storage. The Zenbook A14 will also receive a Snapdragon X Elite variant outside of the USA.

Robovac With A Robo Arm

You have the option to activate it and configure it to pick up lightweight items such as socks and toys weighing up to 300 grams. Once activated, the Saros S70 carries out customary cleaning tasks. It identifies and marks objects it can lift during the process and returns later to clean areas it missed. This is anticipated to launch in the first half of 2025.
