2025 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize: Discover the Revealed Shortlist!

Four global photographers have been selected for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. They are Cristina De Middel, Rahim Fortune, Tarrah Krajnak, and Lindokuhle Sobekwa.

Each year, this prestigious award acknowledges and honors artists for their achievements in photography over the preceding 12 months, having been established in 1996. Over the past 28 years, this accolade has evolved into one of the most significant global photography awards, highlighting remarkable, innovative, and thought-provoking works from modern photographers.

The selected projects for 2025 include documentary photography, constructed imagery, self-portraits, performances, and family archives. The shortlist presents powerful themes such as migration, community and belonging, intergenerational traditions and rituals, family recollections, and photographic narratives, spotlighting influential works exhibited or published in Europe during the past year.

From 7 March to 15 June 2025, The Photographers’ Gallery, located in London, will showcase works from the four shortlisted submissions.

The recipient of the £30,000 award will be revealed during a ceremony at The Photographers’ Gallery on 15 May 2025, with the other contenders each receiving £5,000.

Information regarding the prize exhibition and award ceremony will be disclosed early in 2025.
