Ellen Andeen-Keller appointed vice mayor at Paradise Valley Town Hall

Staff Reports | Local News That Impacts

It was capacity crowd during the evening hours of Thursday, Jan. 9 at Paradise Valley Town Hall, 6401 E. Lincoln Drive, as Mark Stanton took his oath as the chief figure of the municipality.

Along with the inauguration of the new mayor, three members of the Town Council were sworn in — two of whom were incumbent members and a newly elected representative was welcomed at Town Hall. The Town of Paradise Valley witnessed two members from its local governing body pursue the role of mayor this electoral cycle, while Karen Liepmann, Scott Moore, and Julie Pace ran without opposition.

Voters from the Town of Paradise Valley had the opportunity to select the next mayor, while every candidate contesting for a Town Council position ran unopposed after Tim Dickman exited the local political race late last year.

In addition to Mayor Stanton, the following Town Council members took their oaths last Thursday night:

Ellen Andeen-Keller
Karen Liepmann
Julie Pace

The Town of Paradise Valley administration consists of the mayor and six Town Council members elected citywide to represent the Town of Paradise Valley. The Town Council hires the town manager, the town attorney, and the presiding judge.

The mayor serves a two-year term, while those elected to the Town Council serve staggered terms of four years.

In contrast to the majority of municipalities, elected officials in Paradise Valley do not receive compensation for their service. The Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Council Members do not receive any salary from the Town.
