A display featuring breathtaking and significant photographs of birds captured from across the world in 2024 is about to launch.

The Bird Photographer of the Year exhibition is being held at the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock, starting Saturday and running until late February.

This exhibition, showcasing entries from the 2024 contest, is presently touring the UK.

Over 23,000 photographs were submitted by photographers from around the globe across eight various categories for the competition.

Neil Fawcett, head of community and corporate services at Oxfordshire County Council, expressed that the council was “excited” to host the “renowned” exhibition.

“These amazing, frequently moving images share stories from different parts of the globe,” he noted.

“There is something to resonate with everyone.”

Mr. Fawcett also expressed gratitude to the Friends of Oxfordshire Museum group for their assistance in bringing the exhibition to the Woodstock venue.

Included in the exhibition are images of various birds such as swans, penguins, vultures, peregrine falcons, and brown boobies.

The competition for 2025 is now accepting entries, inviting photographers of all skill levels to share their best bird photographs.

During the February half-term, the museum will host bird-themed activities for families to participate in and enjoy.
