Edinboro, Pa. – In their initial competition of 2025, the Edinboro women’s swimming team achieved a 117-88 triumph over visiting Shippensburg on Friday afternoon during PSAC dual meet proceedings.
 
The Scots commenced the competition strongly with the team of Katelyn Reott, Alexis Schrecongost, Lillian Dilts, and Izzy Hanek securing victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.65. In third place, Kirsten Johnson, Emma Beggs, Abigail Greene, and Avery Zuk finished with a time of 1:57.71.
 
In the 1,000 freestyle, Cara Della Toffalo finished second with a time of 11:20.69. Baila Bugara followed closely in third at 11:31.13. Della Toffalo then secured first place in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:23.81.
 
Schrecongost finished the 200-freestyle first, clocking in at 2:01.51. Zuk placed third in this event with a time of 2:04.25. In the 100 butterfly, Schrecongost recorded a time of 1:01.08 to take second place, while Greene came in third with a time of 1:04.71.
 
In the 50 free, Reott claimed second with a time of 24.48, while Greene’s time of 26.03 earned her a third-place finish. Edinboro dominated the 200 individual medley with Beggs taking first at 2:18.42 and Bugara finishing second at 2:21.98. Beggs also won first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.85.
 
Dilts and Zuk achieved first and second place in the 100-freestyle, with Dilts timing in at 54.76 and Zuk finishing at 56.67. Hanek achieved a first-place finish in the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:01.21.
 
The Scots concluded the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay. Hanek, Dilts, Della Toffalo, and Reott recorded a time of 1:40.97.
 
The Scots will be competing again on Saturday, facing off against Allegheny at McComb Fieldhouse. The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m.
